John

John is a versatile musician who heads the music department at the South African College High School where one of his loves is being band programme director.  John  composes music and writes arrangements on a regular basis for a variety of clients including the Johannesburg Music Initiative; is the Music Director of the Cape Town Concert Brass; and  works as a pianist/accompanist; etc, etc..., as well as (most importantly!!!) being husband to Rachel and father to Peter, Sarah and Amy plus the menagerie...  For a more detailed biography/curriculum vitae have a look here...

Steve

Steve made his first guitar at school in the woodwork class.  By the age of 20 was playing at Ronnie Scott's jazz club on a regular basis.  During the 70's he played with numerous bands in the U.K. and joined the band Love Affair, (Everlasting love) for a tour of Poland which included the Palace of Culture, Warsaw.  The only other band to have accomplished this at that time was the Rolling Stones In 1982 Steve took up the position of musical director at the Royal Swazi Sun in Swaziland, an engagement which was to last for four years.  After moving to Durban in1987 he joined NAPAC (now the Playhouse Company) as guitar player in the NAPAC Jazz Quartet under the guidance of Graham Scott and the late Geoffrey Sutherland.  Steve has played on many productions including: A man for all seasons, Judy, Seven brides for seven brothers, Queen at the Opera, Sweet Charity, Hello Dolly, Elton John, Jesus Christ Superstar; numerous Philharmonic Rock Shows as well as Les Miserables and Annie.  Recently Steve has been touring the world working in such exotic places as Turkey and China, and now he appears regularly with Denay at Marimbas in the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

Mike

Dr. Michael Campbell is Associate Professor of Jazz Studies at the University of Cape Town; one of South Africa's top composers and arrangers and a highly sought after music director who is completely at home in all genres of music.  He regularly writes and directs commercial shows ranging from product launches to massive corporate functions.  He is also a highly acclaimed performer as well; and also has a keen interest in the furthering and development of Jazz at all levels.  This is reflected in him being President of the South Africa Society of Jazz Educators.  For further information on Mike have a look here...
